Joan Carles I (king of Spain) abdication on his son Felipe (Phillip) VI. His great-grandfather, Phillip V, was the king of Spain when Catalonia lost its freedom in the beginning of 18th century. We (catalan people) use to show his portrait upside down since then as a sign we don't recognise him as our king. With the new king, the tradition goes on.
